Self hypnosis

Self Hypnosis
I will not pretend to be an expert in self-hypnosis, but I have done a lot of research in self-hypnosis and tried several methods. Self hypnosis is very useful, almost miraculous. First, let me explain what exactly is self hypnosis and why is it performed. Self Hypnosis is a process by which one can speak to ones sub-conscious mind. The conscious mind is the one with which we make decisions and handle the situations we are facing now. It makes up less that 5% of our overall brain power and it can handle only seven pieces of information at a time. On the other hand the subconscious mind makes up to 95% of our brain and can handle 400 billion pieces of information at a time. That’s how powerful the sub-conscious mind is. It is therefore common sense to attempt to use this power to our benefit. What hypnosis does is relax your conscious mind enough to let it pass through any suggestion that might be given. In our normal waking state, whenever a suggestion is made it is intercepted by the conscious mind, which analyzes it according to its beliefs and either accepts or rejects it. The subconscious mind does not even receive the suggestion. On the other hand, in the hypnotic state the conscious mind does not come in the way as it is relaxing and so the subconscious mind registers the suggestion and accepts and acts on it.
There are three basic steps to performing self hypnosis: induction, suggestion and return.
It seems very simple but it requires a bit of practicing to get it right. Induction: Sit in a comfortable chair or lie down and focus on something (a point in the ceiling for example). Take a deep breath, hold for a while, and then exhale slowly. Now gently close your eyes and turn your thought to your breathing. With every exhalation imagine you are letting go of tension. Next, think of different parts of your body starting from your feet and imagine they are getting limp and relaxed. Do this for all parts of your body and then return the thought to your breathing. By now you will feel very relaxed and calm. You might or you might not enter a trance state. Whatever is the case it helps to go through your affirmations in undertone at this stage. Gradually, with practice you will start to see the results. Once you are done count slowly backwards from ten to one and with the countdown imagine you are waking up. Then gently open your eyes.

Self hypnosis does work and can achieve the objective of giving us whatever we desire. However, it needs a lot of practicing and is therefore very time-consuming. If you want faster results you have to look for the alternate method described below.
Self-hypnosis is not the only way of reaching your sub-conscious. There is another method as effective as self-hypnosis, and that is subliminal messaging. Subliminal messages are indiscernible to the conscious mind, but are perceptible to the subconscious mind. There is an excellent software called Subliminal-Power which can create subliminal messages on the desktop. These messages will be flashed with a high frequency on the computer screen and does not interfere with surfing or whatever other work you do. Consciously, you would see nothing but you would start feeling the improvements very soon. You can find more information about this software here.
